Dear Veeders: 
How pleased my family is with the large black mailbox I ordered about October 2000, even though they questioned the cost at the time. Installed on a wooden post, as recommended, it has withstood three winters of plowing, and I won a six-pack from the mailman who claimed it wouldn't last the first winter! 
Even now, after the latest round of baseball bat vandalism, it stands unmarked alongside numerous damaged mailboxes on our unlit lane. 
Unfortunately, unable to damage the mailbox, the vandals turned their attention to our driveway lamppost which has stood undamaged for over 40 years - it now needs new plate glass all round. 
If you ever move into production of vandal-proof driveway lampposts, do let me 
know - immediately!
